Solar Analytics has long provided the most comprehensive smart solar software in the market, and now we have a new way to connect with your system, directly to your inverter. This means that our customers can get more from their solar at a lower price point, and it’s perfect for those needing WiFi connectivity and hybrid inverter/hybrid battery monitoring, including those seeking information on how to connect a Sungrow inverter to WiFi.
How it works...
As always, Solar Analytics connects to all inverters through our Solar Smart Monitor, easily installed in your meter board by a licensed electrician. This is Solar Analytics' ultimate solution, and features include:
A Solar Analytics subscription and Solar Smart Monitor can be purchased from our solar retailer partners. See our How It Works page for software subscription details. Ask your solar retailer for a quote for the subscription + Solar Smart Monitor package.
Solar Analytics can also connect to eligible inverters with our Inverter Integration solution - we collect your solar and energy data directly from the inverter and inverter consumption meter (which is installed in your switchboard, typically at the time of solar installation). Solar Analytics is currently available in conjunction with all current models of Sungrow string inverters in Australia. This is Solar Analytics' lower cost solution and features include:
Access the Inverter's User Interface: To start, you need to access the user interface of your Sungrow inverter. Typically, this can be done by connecting a device (like a laptop or smartphone) to the inverter's local WiFi network. Check the user manual for specific instructions on how to do this for your model.
Log In: Once connected to the inverter's WiFi network, open a web browser and enter the IP address provided in the user manual. This should take you to the inverter's web interface login page.
Login Credentials: Enter the login credentials. These are often provided in the user manual or may have been set up during the initial installation.
Configure WiFi Settings: Navigate to the WiFi or Network settings section within the inverter's web interface. Here, you will typically find options to scan for available WiFi networks.
Select Your WiFi Network: Choose your home WiFi network from the list of available networks. You may need to enter your WiFi network's password or security key.
Save and Confirm: After entering the network details, save the settings and confirm. The inverter will attempt to connect to your WiFi network.
Check Connection: Once the inverter successfully connects to your WiFi network, you should see an indicator or status message confirming the connection.
Monitoring Platform: If your Sungrow inverter is designed to connect to a monitoring platform or app, you may need to register the inverter on that platform using a specific serial number or activation code. Follow the instructions provided by the monitoring platform.
Final Checks: Ensure that your Sungrow inverter is connected to your WiFi network and transmitting data to the monitoring platform. You may need to wait a bit for the data to sync.
Please note that the exact steps and interface may vary depending on your Sungrow inverter model. It's essential to consult the user manual specific to your inverter model for detailed and accurate instructions. Additionally, consider seeking assistance from a professional installer if you are unsure about the process
A Solar Analytics subscription can be purchased from our solar retailer partners offering Sungrow inverters. See our How It Works page for software subscription details. Integration is available with all new residential Sungrow string inverters and a select group of older Sungrow inverters if you already have solar installed. Ask your solar retailer for a quote for the subscription + inverter consumption meter package.
